British Embassy Nigeria for Finance Manager

The British High Commission in Abuja has the following vacancy in its Management Section:

Position: LE I Finance Manager

General

The British High Commission is looking for a Finance Manager to head a team working in its busy Management Section.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

- Management of the local budget including: Preparation of month and year end reports, monthly monitoring of budget position; completion of quarterly returns.
- Day to day management of post account including: Supervision, checking and authorisation of expenditure and entitlements; approval of requisitions and effective control of the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process from requisitioning through to invoicing.
- Dealing with day to day staff queries; arrival, departure and general
- Day-to-day management of four accounts officers and close liaison with the Strategy Resource Group (SRG) in London.

Qualities needed

We are looking to recruit a British Passport Holder who is an experienced professional to lead our Finance team. Evidence of strong leadership, financial knowledge and team-working in a fast-paced environment are pre-requisites to be a success at this role.

The successful candidate will need to be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate will have excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and the ability to work with a diverse range of people.

Previous experience of working in an office environment is essential. Candidates must have good keyboard skills and familiarity with computers and software packages (notably MS Word and MS Excel) is essential.

This is a full time position, from 8am – 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am – 1.00pm on Friday. Starting date will be 1st March 2011. The job will be graded LE I with a monthly starting basic salary of N469, 436 including allowances. Successful candidates who are not liable to pay Nigerian tax will be subject to a notional tax deduction on the basic salary. The salary will be paid in Naira.
